Graduates

KeyStage Recruitment are offering graduates who have a degree in a curriculum subject the opportunity to teach on a supply basis in secondary schools across Stockton on Tees, Middlesbrough, Darlington, East Cleveland, Durham and surrounding areas. This will give invaluable experience to those who are looking to gain a place on PGCE or GTP course, while allowing flexibility around part time further education.

Most local secondary schools welcome degree graduates as a cover supervisor on a day to day or long term basis to cover lessons where work is pre-set and all the relevant preparation and planning has been completed by a qualified teacher. A graduate can use their enthusiasm for their given subject to deliver this work in an exciting and dynamic way.

Our unique approach has enabled KeyStage to build excellent working relationships with local schools and we can provide all our  cover supervisors with the volume of work they require. Teaching is a rewarding professions in which you really can make a difference to young peoples lives.

Our Commitment

Here at Keystage Recruitment we understand that your first day of supply teaching could be nerve-wracking, especially if you have little or no experience working with school children. We therefore offer a fully comprehensive training programme giving you a helpful starting point.

The training will be covered before we send you on your first assignment and we aim to organise a training course every half term throughout the year. This training will be flexible and organised around your specific needs. For example we offer ‘Interactive White Board Training’ and ‘Special Educational Needs within Mainstream Schools’ courses.

Our group training courses offer a great opportunity to meet other KeyStage supply teachers from the local area. It is always good to have a friendly face within the schools to have a chat with over lunch.

If you decide teaching is your desired profession, we can advise you in the various ways to become qualified. Often whilst working within a school, graduates are offered in-house positions on GTPs (Graduate Training Programmes). Alternatively you may decide to undertake a part time PGCE whilst doing supply teaching work.

Entrance to a full time PGCE course requires some teaching experience and working for KeyStage is a great way to gain this whilst being paid. So why not ‘try before you buy’ and experience teaching before committing to studying on a PGCE course.

If you have a degree in a curriculum subject and have a passion to teach then we look forward to hearing from you.  Please email your CV to info@keystagerecruitment.co.uk. Emailing your CV will give us the chance to assess your options and pay rates before we meet.
